Once you’ve found a marketing campaign that works, it can be tempting to start pumping in more money. But if that ad campaign starts to plateau or drop in performance, it’s time for a new strategy. That’s where A/B testing comes in: a systematic way to test advertising campaigns, and quickly zero in on the ones that perform best.
Learn A/B testing for better Facebook ads allows you to change one variable at a time, such as the image, text or target audience of an ad, and then measure results to determine which performs better. There are a few ways to do this, but the easiest is through Facebook’s Ad Manager Toolbar.

To get started, click on the “Create A/B Test” button in the Toolbar (you can also use the ad creation process to create an A/B test). You’ll be asked to choose which campaign or ad set you want to duplicate and then select the alternate version. You can then customize your A/B test ad, name the experiment and determine the winning criteria (the alternative ad will run if the test is successful).
